Sales for Small Business Series
Do you have and follow a structured sales process? Using a sales process can help any business become more successful. A good sales process provides a common language, consistency, identifiable steps, a clear path to follow and a coaching framework. Investing the time to implement a sales process is the first step for any business owner interested in improving sales and increasing revenue.
This four-course series, based on Dave Kurlan's book Baseline Selling, will give you the information you need to start using a highly-effective sales system that can work for any business. Gain tremendous clarity and focus as we break the sales process down into four clear stages using a baseball diamond as an easy way to visualize where you are in the process and what you need to do to get to the next stage.
You may choose individual sessions, but the majority of people find that attending the complete series is most helpful, since the sessions build on one another.

Improving Team Communication
Description
We often find ourselves in situations where productivity requires the cooperation of others, but where we have no formal authority. Providing critical feedback, contributing to creative discussions, or determining task assignments can be challenging when the other team members are our peers. Project groups, task forces, volunteer committees –all require team members to communicate constructively to fulfill the team’s mission.
- Assess the effectiveness of your “influencing style”
- Discuss techniques for negotiating while building and maintaining strong
relationships
- Identify blocks which prevent giving feedback
- Learn to give constructive, behaviorally based feedback
- Use techniques to promote openness and reduce defensiveness
- Handle negative input with more comfort
- Identify ways to manage “emotional traps” in difficult conversations
Regardless of your role on the team, improving your communication skills can make a positive impact on the group’s performance.
Discover how constructive use of persuasion skills can boost team problem solving. Identify “moments of opportunity” that improve your chances to influence the group’s creativity or decisions. And learn how to manage your response to others to avoid falling into emotional traps that sabotage effectiveness.

Create, Manage, and Measure Effective Google AdWords Campaigns
Ideal for small business owners and managers who want to learn the basics of search engine marketing (often referred to as pay-per-click or PPC advertising). With PPC, business owners and managers can selectively promote their products and services exclusively to very specific audiences. PPC clients can even define a geographic region: local, national, international, or a small section of these, as well as eliminate tire kicker prospects by using “negative keywords”.
PPC campaigns are powerful because they deliver targeted messages to Internet searchers and a business owner only pays when someone clicks on the ad. Within the PPC industry, Google’s AdWords platform is the leader and delivers measurable results for clients.
This is a practical and tactical workshop that provides attendees with the knowledge they need to be able to create and manage their own Google AdWords campaigns. More specifically, participants will learn basic pay-per-click terminology, how to create a Google AdWords account step-by-step, how to create a Google AdWords campaign step-by-step, and how to use measure return on investment while refining future campaigns.

Increase Online Sales with Viral Social Networking
Social networking, when done correctly, can represent over 20 percent of a Website’s traffic. Plus, a Website’s conversion rate of online sales from traffic referred from social networking sites can be as high as 22 percent versus the typical 2 to 4 percent. This translates into a 500 percent increase! Bottom line: social networking can deliver significant business benefits, making this half-day class ideal for anyone looking for a practical strategy to increase online sales by using Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
You will learn a 15-step social networking process that has been proven to increase Website traffic and online sales. You will get started by learning the fundamentals of Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn including criteria for deciding which site(s) are the best for your business goals. You will also learn how to harness the power of the three Cs of social networking: 1) creating Conversation, 2) building Community, and 3) generating Commerce.
And if you are like most businesspeople, you may be wondering what things in your life or business are “that interesting” that they should be shared with the world via Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. This class will provide you with topic recommendations regarding the type of content your social networking community will find valuable as well as guidelines for sharing your content without turning your community into a selling free-for-all.
The 15 easy-to-follow steps will also provide you with the tools you need to reduce your social networking time investment while showing you how to measure results.
The class instructor is Stephen Woessner, author of “Increase Online Sales through Viral Social Networking”. Each attendee will receive a complimentary copy of the book. Woessner is also the author of “The Small Business Owner’s Handbook to Search Engine Optimization”.

Making the Most of Conflict
Conflict is inevitable and it can be part of everyday life. We have two basic choices when conflict arises: 1) shy away and try to avoid it, or 2) move into it and work to resolve it. Many people may not realize that by habitually avoiding the fear and emotional tensions that make conflict seem difficult, they are usually increasing the amount and intensity of future conflicts they will have to deal with. Put another way: “If you have to eat a frog, get it when it’s a tadpole.” This takes courage and skill. We can learn a lot about ourselves and others if we can develop the critical skills and self-regulation that can turn potential conflict into discovery, self-confidence, and increased personal power. Your skill and ability to communicate clearly and effectively while addressing conflicts smoothly will be a distinct factor in your future success. These skills are often what separate star performers from the rest of the organization.

Efficient & Effective Search Engine Optimization for Business Owners
Optimizing your Web site’s content will improve your search engine rankings when someone searches on keywords relating to your business. This workshop is ideal for small business owners and managers who want to learn an efficient and effective process for dramatically improving their site’s rankings and doubling monthly unique visitors.
A business owner does not need to know technical skills, like Web programming, to be successful at search engine optimization (SEO). Instead, business owners will rely on their marketing skill and the ability to think like their customers and prospects, versus an ability to write HTML or other form of Web programming.
This workshop will teach you how to select keywords that are proven performers, blend the keywords into site content, boost site popularity, and more. More specifically, attendees will learn basic SEO terms, how to use several free SEO tools when selecting the best keywords, how to implement a practical and tactical 15-step process for optimizing site content and building popularity, and how to measure results.
The instructor is Stephen Woessner, author of The Small Business Owner Handbook to Search Engine Optimization: Increase Your Google Rankings, Double Your Site Traffic…In Just 15 Steps. Guaranteed! Each attendee will receive a complimentary copy of the book.
