The 7 Steps to Starting a Business, presented by the Western Dairyland Business Center, will be held on Thursday September 23rd, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the community room of the Galesville public library at 16787 South Main Street, Galesville.

The first step in starting a business is a great business plan. The training will discuss the components in the  business plan, including the financial plan, and  will prepare the owner/potential owner to understand the potential business profit and/or loss, as well as the cash available after taxes, loan principal and the owner are paid.  In The 7 Steps to Starting a Business, attendees will learn the basic steps in building a successful business plan. Topics covered  include proving the feasibility of the business by proving a market exists,  business marketing,  staffing, , legal structure, what a lender looks for, funding your business, and more.

After the class, attendees may apply for free, one-on-one assistance from Western Dairyland’s Business Development Specialists to determine the feasibility of their business ideas and identify sources to prove their markets.  Business Development Specialists may also help with the preparation of business plans and financial forecasts, which could be presented to lenders.

Tuition is $25 for individuals and class materials are included.  Scholarships are available for income eligible individuals.  There are three easy ways to register and pay for the class: online at www.SuccessfulBusiness.org, by phone at 836-7511 ext. 171, or in person at the Western Dairyland office in downtown Eau Claire. Because space is limited, pre-registration and payment is required by September 15th.
