Wisconsin Small Business Development Center (SBDC) network state director Bon Wikenheiser and University of Wisconsin-Superior officials announced today the retirement of Julianne E. Raymond, the director of the Wisconsin SBDC at UW-Superior. Raymond is a 14-year veteran of the SBDC, a business technical assistance program offered through UW-Extension and regional UW universities. She began her career at UW-Superior as a small business consultant for the SBDC in August of 2000, and became the center director in 2005.
IGNITE! Business Success is officially "open for business." Colleen Merrill, director of Wisconsin SBDC at UW-Oshkosh played a key role in supporting the formation of this business-building collaboration.
Barley John's Brewing Compay co-owners John Moore and Laura Subak, secured over $4 million in funding to bring a production facility to Wisconsin. Moore and Subak worked with the SBDC at UW-River Falls on financial documents needed for the loans. With necessary financing in place, they broke ground on New Production Facility in Western Wisconsin in August.

Annual Fastpitch Competition Is Your Chance To Win $5,000
The Third Annual Racine/Kenosha FastPitch Competition will be held on Wednesday, August 20th at 2:30 p.m. at the Gateway Technical College iMET Center. The deadline to submit a presentation is Wednesday, July 30th. It is also strongly recommended that participants attend at least one of two training classes prior to the competition that will be held on both August 6th and 7th from 5:30-8:00 p.m.
