Chad Hoffman Bio

Chad Hoffman, International Trade Consultant – Wisconsin SBDC Network

Chad joined the Wisconsin Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network in January 2020 to develop and implement a state-wide initiative to identify and engage with new and experienced exporters throughout the state to assist them in the pursuit of growth opportunities in international markets.  The primary goal of the Go Global Initiative is to facilitate engagement between Wisconsin companies and the many local, state and federal trade resources identified using an Export Assessment tool. 

In addition to his current responsibilities, in January 2019, Chad was appointed as Chair of the Wisconsin District Export Council (DEC) for a 2-year term.  DEC members are appointed by the US Secretary of Commerce and provide expert advice to Wisconsin companies to assist them to grow their exports sales.  Chad also serves on the board of the MMAC’s World Trade Association. 

Previously Chad served as VP of Global Trade and Investment at the Milwaukee 7 (M7) where he managed the Global Cities Initiative, a joint project between the Brookings Institution and JP Morgan Chase.  Prior to this, Chad was Director of an SBDC International Trade Center (ITC) where he assisted companies in the Chicagoland area with all aspects of international trade. In total, Chad has more than 22 years of international experience in several industries, he has lived and worked in Europe, is fully bilingual English-Spanish and is a Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP). He received his bachelor’s degrees in Marketing and Production and Operations Management from UW-Milwaukee.
